Stem Cell Therapy
Are you thinking that stem cell therapy might be the treatment you need? Stem cells kick-start the body’s healing response, and the doctors at our medical clinic offer free consultations to help you make an informed decision about pursuing any type of treatment utilizing stem cells.
What is Stem Cell Therapy?
Stem cell therapy as a term is widely used to refer to any treatment that contains stem cells but this is not entirely accurate. Stem cell therapy is technically any procedure where a medical team harvests tissue from your body, processes it for stem cells and re injects those cells into your body. The only exception to this is that the tissue can come from a family member.
The tissue is most often harvested from either bone marrow or adipose (fat cells). There are multiple reasons we feel that there are better stem cell treatment options. First, bone marrow is harvested by drilling a hole into your hip or femur and extracting the marrow, which is very painful. The resulting stem cells are the age of the patient and aged stem cells may not be as efficient as younger stem cells in their healing ability. Second, adipose or fat cells are a place where your body stores toxins. Stem cells extracted from an area that contain toxins may be subject to adverse effect from the toxins and therefore on the quality of the cells.
Is Stem Cell Therapy The Best Option?
The potential trouble with stem cell therapy is that as we age our stem cells become less proficient. This decrease in effectiveness becomes more noticeable as we approach age 30. That is why children heal so much faster than adults do: their stem cells are young and vibrant.
With the treatments that we prefer, regenerative cellular treatments, the growth factors and stem cells that are inherent in the tissue come from donated umbilical tissue. These young stem cells are injected into the affected area, delivering an intense boost of regenerative power. These new stem cells have virtually no chance of being rejected when introduced to the body.
The stem cells we use in our treatments are derived from Wharton’s jelly. This valuable substance—safely and painlessly collected from the umbilical cords of newborns during scheduled cesarean deliveries—yields an incredibly high concentration of mesenchymal stem cells.
Wharton’s jelly-derived stem cell preparations contain up to 80% mesenchymal stem cells, as opposed to conventional umbilical cord blood, which typically has only a 3 to 5% concentration. That is why Wharton’s jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells are such an effective regenerative treatment.
Our medical clinic sources our stem cells from established tissue banks that operate under strict compliance with FDA and American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) regulations.”
Stem Cell Treatment
When mesenchymal stem cells are injected into your injured tissue, their incredible regenerative power immediately begins to repair the damage. Common conditions that respond exceptionally well to stem cell treatment include:
- Knee injuries and damaged cartilage
- Sciatica and other conditions causing back pain
- Nerve damage, including peripheral neuropathy
- Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and different types of arthritis
- Plantar fasciitis and other foot injuries
- Bone problems
- Hip pain
- Elbow, shoulder, or other joint pain
- Neck pain
- Ligament tears
- Alzheimer’s disease and other causes of cognitive decline
Stem Cell Treatments for Pain
Stem cell treatment is highly effective at relieving pain. It is a minimally invasive procedure that many patients opt for as a safe alternative to surgery or drugs. The procedure involves a simple injection and does not involve any downtime after treatment. The treatment provides long-lasting relief from both acute and chronic pain.
